WEEK
The
ITCA in conjunction with the Hackettstown Regional Medical Center
will host Health Week from Monday, September 25th through Thursday,
September 28th. The screenings/workshops will run from 11am to 1pm
each day and are open to all ITCA members. All screenings/workshops
are FREE!
Diabetes
Screening – Monday, Sept 25th – 500 International Drive Main Lobby
Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in the U.S. An estimated
16 million people in the U.S. have diabetes and half of these are
undiagnosed. This diabetes screening is for individuals not already
diagnosed as having diabetes. This is a quick finger prick test
and the results are immediate. A 3 hour fast is recommended.
Osteoporosis
Screening – Tuesday, Sept 26th – 300 International Dr Lobby (BMW)
Osteoporosis is a silent disease characterized by low bone mass
and deterioration of the bone tissue, resulting in fragile bones
that are more susceptible to fracture. This screening is done on
the heel with ultrasound technology and is for women only. No pantyhose
please. Results are immediate and can be shared with your physician.
Sleep
Apnea Risk Assessment – Wednesday, Sept 27th - 450 Clark Drive Side
Libby (L3 Communications)
This risk assessment is to help identify people with snoring and
other potential serious sleep-related disorders such as sleep apnea.
Sleep apnea is a serious disorder which, left untreated, can lead
to high blood pressure, and eventually heart attack and stroke.
Hypertension
Screening – Thursday, September 28th – 450 Clark Drive Front Lobby
(BASF)
High Blood Pressure affects one out of four Americans. Hypertension
increases an individuals risk for cardiovascular disease, stroke,
kidney failure and other health problems. Prevention is a key component
to preventing complications from high blood pressure. This screening
is open to all.
